Born from the Falls, Raised in the Kitchen

Deep in the heart of Guyana, the Kaieteur Falls roars with a power that has inspired generations. It was here, amidst the thunder of the world's most powerful waterfall, that our founder first dreamed of a kitchen that would carry that same force — a place where the richness of Caribbean cooking could take root in a new city and nourish a community far from home. Kaieteur Kitchen was born from that vision: bold, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in the land that made us.

Our head chef grew up in a Georgetown household where Sunday mornings meant pepperpot on the stove before sunrise and roti rolled thin enough to read through. Every recipe we serve has been handed down, adjusted, argued over, and perfected across kitchens in two countries. We source spices the way Guyanese cooks always have — with intention — and we refuse to shortcut the slow braises, the hand-ground masalas, or the patience that authentic Caribbean food demands.

Edmonton's Guyanese community has been quietly building something beautiful here for decades. Kaieteur Kitchen exists to be a gathering place — a weekly ritual where the diaspora can taste home, and where curious Edmontonians can discover flavours they won't forget. We are not just a restaurant. We are a cultural anchor, and every Friday we open our doors is a celebration of where we come from and who we are becoming together.
